Tjelvars grav är en skeppssättning. Under senare delen av bronsåldern, cirka 1100 – 500 f. Kr. började man bygga gravar i form av skepp med relingar av uppresta stenar. På Gotland finns cirka 350 sådana gravar. I de flesta fall påträffas endast en grav i varje skeppssättning. Ofta ligger flera skeppssättningar intill varandra.
